WLBC Parks and Countryside Service
The Ranger Service are responsible for 16 sites across West Lancs and are responsible for all aspects of their management. The Volunteer Ranger Service get involved in all areas of work including practical tasks, event management and visitor services.
A conservation Volunteer could expect to get involved in the following tasks:
Conservation Volunteer sessions occur on Thursday Mornings and usually begin at Beacon Country Park, although work can be undertaken on any of the 16 sites across the borough.
Commitment to conservation and improving the local environment
A willingness to learn and 'get stuck in' is essential
Practical skills and ability to work unsupervised
Good level of fitness essential
Ability to work within a team
