Gardening

Brookside retirement village

We have three smallish gardens here at Brookside and we are looking for some help with getting them looking nice for some of our neighbours who have dementia or are unable to go out of the scheme.

Although we do pay for gardening,  this only covers grass cutting and not the borders or raised beds. They are not nice at all at the moment and need a lot of attention. We also have two greenhouses which could be used to grow things. As most people here are elderly or disabled we can't manage them ourselves.

It would be fantastic if we could get some people to come here regularly to do some weeding and hoeing, put some plants in and do regular weeding. We realise it's a huge ask but it would mean so much to the people who will be able to sit outside.

What skills do I need?

Any gardening or growing experience would be great, but just some fitness and a little muscle will be equally valuable.
