Skelmersdale and West Lancs Sea Cadets
We are looking for enthusiastic and passionate people to become trustees and become part of our management committees for Sea Cadet Units across the North West.
We offer a wide range of activities to young people from sailing and canoeing, rock climbing, engineering, IT and communications, to music and cookery. We aim to encourage good citizenship and provide worthwhile qualifications and adventure for young people aged 10-18years.
Examples of some of the key tasks:
* Assist with the running of the Unit as required
*Attend management committee meetings on a monthly basis
* Support fundraising and business planning activities
* Ensure the building and equipment are maintained and are safe
* Organise events and activities to promote the unit
* Help to recruit volunteers and young people
*Ensure charity law and governance requirements are compiled with.
Previous experience of trusteeship is useful but no previous experience or qualifications are necessary.
It is essential that you are passionate about working young people
You will be flexible and willing to help with a wide range of tasks
You will need to be reliable and committed to volunteering
You will be able to work as part of a team
Be open minded and willing to learn new skills and develop as a person
You must be able to commit to a minimum of 6 hours per month on a regular long term basis.
