Volunteer Chef Position - Birchwood Inclusion Cafes

We are seeking a passionate and reliable volunteer chef to support our Inclusion Cafes in Skelmersdale. The role involves preparing nutritious meals for members of our community, while contributing to a welcoming environment. As a volunteer chef, you will play a key role in bringing people together through food and supporting community wellbeing. 

With experience in cooking or food preparation (professional or home cooking welcomed) a positive, flexible attitude and willingness to learn.

What skills do I need?

Plan and prepare simple, healthy meals using available ingredients, Ensure food is prepared and presented to a high standard.

Maintain a clean, safe and organised kitchen environment, Follow food hygiene and safety regulations at all times.

Contribute ideas for menus and special community events, Adapt menus to accommodate dietary needs where possible

Assist with stock management, including checking deliveries and minimising waste.

Work collaboratively with other volunteers and staff

We would like someone to start as soon as possible, the position will be based in Skelmersdale, approximately 4 - 8 hours per week
