Volunteer Facilitator

Volunteer Facilitator required at various Health & Wellbeing groups in West Lancs and Southport. We currently run Memories R Made Choirs for people living with dementia and memory loss and Music & Movement sessions for adults with learning needs.

Duties include welcoming participants; interacting with them; taking payment for sessions, where appropriate; helping set up the room and equipment and clearing away at the end. Also supporting the activities within the group such as Singing; Dancing, Drumming and learning about the basic aspects of music. 

All of our sessions are fun and interactive and we encourage our volunteers to get involved with the music and the people and enjoy themselves.  Our current sessions are held in Skelmersdale, Ormskirk and Southport.

In addition support is required at our monthly disco; which would involve welcoming participants as they arrive and depart and payment on entrance.

What skills do I need?

To understand the needs of adults with learning needs, the elderly and mental health.

Have a keen understanding and interest in music and dance - playing an instrument would be an advantage.

Must have a friendly manner and a 'bubbly' fun character and personality.

Confidentiality is vitally important.

Empathy and approachability are key skills along with excellent communication skills.

If you are able to meet some, but not all of the times and places, please do still apply as we have multiple volunteers sharing responsibilities and we may be able to slot you in. We have various locations in Skelmersdale, Southport and Ormskirk
