Volunteer Translator

To work in a sensitive and non-judgemental way within agreed guidelines on confidentiality with our non-english speaking clients.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:-

Answer the telephone and record relevant messages

Help with letter writing

Act as an interpreter for non English speaking clients

Act as an interpreter for our information leaflets/publications

OTHER DUTIES:-

Attend team meetings

Attend any relevant training

Undertake any other duties in line with the nature of the post

What skills do I need?

The position requires females who can speak Polish or Portuguese, have good interpersonal skills, an empathic approach and an understanding of the impact and effects of domestic violence on the lives of women & children. (As this is a woman only project. Equality Act 2010).
