Welcome Centre & Site Cleaning Volunteer

Lancashire Heritage (2018) CIC

Becconsall Living Museum & Heritage Park is looking for reliable volunteers to help keep our Welcome Centre and surrounding visitor areas clean, tidy and welcoming. This is a flexible role where you can give as much or as little time as you wish.

Becconsall is a not-for-profit living museum and heritage park on a 20-acre Biological Heritage Site in Hesketh Bank, between Southport and Preston. We celebrate Lancashire’s industrial, social and craft heritage, and want every visitor to feel comfortable and well looked after from the moment they arrive.

This role may include:

• Cleaning and tidying the Welcome Centre before, during or after opening hours.

• Sweeping, vacuuming or mopping floors as needed.

• Wiping down surfaces, tables, counters and touch points.

• Emptying bins and keeping the entrance area presentable.

• Helping to keep the area around the Welcome Centre clear and tidy.

• Checking and replenishing simple supplies such as tissues, leaflets or toilet rolls if required.

• Supporting the team with light cleaning tasks after events or busy visitor periods.

• Reporting any maintenance or cleaning issues that need attention.

Tasks can be matched to your confidence and experience, and you’ll always have support nearby.

What skills do I need?

You don’t need previous experience, but it would help if you:

• Are practical and happy with hands-on tasks.

• Have an eye for cleanliness and presentation.

• Can work independently or as part of a small team.

• Are reliable and able to follow simple instructions.

• Are comfortable doing light physical tasks.
